Big benefit show for a couple of Acadian artists
On stage: Lisa LeBlanc, Marie Andrée Gaudet, Lennie Gallant, Maggie Savoie, Sirène et Matelot, Kit, Louise and Mathias Goguen, Caroline Savoie and Monique Poirier
(Moncton - December 31, 2023) - On Sunday, January 7, 2024 at 7:30 p.m., the Dieppe Arts and Culture Centre will welcome an impressive line-up of artists who will take turns singing to raise funds for a couple of Acadian artists.
A few days before Christmas, on December 21, 2023, Marie Andrée Gaudet and Edouard Lionet's house in Cap-Pelé, in southeastern New Brunswick, was completely destroyed by fire. This young couple of Acadian artists literally lost everything. In addition to seeing their house go up in flames in the space of a few minutes due to the high winds that day, they lost some thirty precious musical instruments and technical equipment important to their careers, all their personal belongings and their three cats.
Performing at the Dieppe Arts and Culture Centre on Sunday, January 7 at 7:30 p.m. are Lisa LeBlanc, Marie Andrée Gaudet, Lennie Gallant, Maggie Savoie, Sirène et Matelot, Kit, Louise and Mathias Goguen, Caroline Savoie and Monique Poirier.
"We'd like to extend our warmest thanks to all the friends and artist friends who agreed to donate their time. Thanks also to the Centre des arts et de la culture de Dieppe, where Edouard has been working for several years, who didn't hesitate for a second in agreeing to offer their facilities free of charge for the benefit show. We would also like to thank our agent Carol Doucet, from Grenier musique, who was able to quickly set up a box office and a series of promotional activities to ensure that as many people as possible were informed of the show," they conclude.
Tickets are $50, with all benefits going to the Gaudet-Lionet couple. They are available at www.epasslive.com/greniermusique.
