New exhibitions add color to the walls of the DACC
Starting this Thursday, February 15, the public will discover the works of Moise Piuze, an artist who defines himself as a DIY researcher, whose works will line the walls of the main gallery. The exhibition « The design of our existences » is a project of assemblages cobbled together from found or donated materials. The artist deals with scars and aging, using a DIY aesthetic as a way of repairing and healing wounds and memories. Moise Piuze lives and works in Quebec.
Artists Denise Violette Michaud (textiles and ceramics), Laura Vautour (acrylics), Diane Tremblay (watercolors) and Anna Rail (contemporary batik) will be exhibiting their work in the open spaces of the DACC.
Artistic and creative workshops
The DACC offers workshops for all tastes and ages! This month's range of workshops includes an introduction to the creative felting technique with Tina Sharapova. It's still possible to sign up for one of the sessions. The workshop is suitable for children aged 10 and over and adults. Instructions will be given in Ukrainian, Russian, Mandarin and English.
Two introductory ceramics workshops with Isabelle Gallant are scheduled, one in the morning and the other in the evening. A few places are still available. Cost includes materials.
The Paint & Sip with Georgette Bourgeois evening on March 8 will focus on Emily Carr and the Acadian Anna Bourque-Bourgeois, a special for International Women's Rights Day.
